Founded in 2005, the Société Sahélienne de Financement (SAHFI-SA) was born from an ambitious vision: to sustainably support Nigerien small and medium-sized enterprises. Created through the joint initiative of the Nigerien government and the European Union, SAHFI was established with a clear objective: to facilitate access to financing for local businesses.

With the approval of the Ministry of Finance and the endorsement of the BCEAO, SAHFI-SA has positioned itself as a key player in the financing of SMEs in Niger. Since then, the company has supported businesses in their projects by offering financial guarantees that are eligible under the prudential framework of the UMOA, as well as support at each stage of their growth.

Today, with fully paid-up capital of 3.62 billion CFA francs, SAHFI-SA brings together a group of influential shareholders, including the TANYO Association, SOPARFI, SONIBANK, BIA-NIGER, BAGRI, Banque Atlantique of Niger, and the African Solidarity Fund (FSA). Supported by these major financial institutions, SAHFI continues to work toward the development of Niger’s private sector by fostering innovation and entrepreneurship
